Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her stage moniker Ari Lennox is an American artist and songwriter hailing of Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. She released her first EP from the label on October 21 of 2016, entitled Pho, and she gained recognition. Her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music to the internet in 2012 when she launched her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to make music available on the web, including her own released single Bound. In 2015, she appeared on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album with the track "Sweat it out" 21st July. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's references. Later in the year, her music circulated all over Dreamville. It was announced on December 8that she was signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that she sang with Cozz on the Revenge of the Dreamers II album that they co-produced. In October of 2016, she released her first EP Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song, and performed on with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. The following year, she went on to perform as a guest artist on two of her songs along with labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. First single, Whipped Cream From the album hit stores on October 5, 2018, with unreleased music videos. She released her second single for Grampa on November 9. On the 13th of November she released two more singles: the No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released with her debut single the 26th of February in 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed along with Cole on the Creed II sound track on November 16. A music video came out on the 20th of February to go along with the track. Within the first week, the video had more than 3,000,000 views. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
